Care and Maintenance

A sign's two worst enemies are water and landscape maintenance. An essential part of maintaining and preserving your signs well past the warranty date is protecting them from these two very damaging enemies. In addition signs, like all things, must be properly maintained in order to extend their life to the maximum!

WATER is a sign's number one enemy. Whether your new sign is wood, metal or plastic; nothing will do greater harm than hard water from sprinklers and irrigation systems.

Wood Signs will rot, warp and split when regularly exposed to water from sprinklers and hoses.

Plastic, slate, and marble sign components will show mineral spots, which will ruin your signs beautiful fresh appearance.

On painted surfaces, water will eventually cause the paint to crack and peel.

Metal sign components will rust or spot.

LANDSCAPE maintenance performed using weed-whackers and lawnmowers can damage signs by stripping away protective coatings and sealers. These implements can also cause deep physical damage to soft structures like wood or foam. On other harder surfaces, they damage coatings allowing water to penetrate.

In order to maintain your sign and preserve your warranty, divert sprinklers away from your signs. Planting seasonal flower beds around your signs and using drip irrigation will go a long way toward preserving your signs.
